Jan Fisher was born in Coventry and studied Fine Art at Coventry and
art education at Kings, Newcastle upon Tyne. She has lived in Scotland since 1973 in many
beautiful and remote parts of Highland
Scotland - Wester Ross, Braemar, and Tobermory on the Isle of Mull
from where she did many paintings of Iona. She lived in a lock-keepers
cottage beside the Crinan Canal in Argyll before coming to Fife.
All these beautiful locations have provided endless memories and
inspirational ideas for painting the Scottish landscape, sky and
seascapes, the dramatic changing light and seasonal weather.
She is now settled with a studio in Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife,
painting the rocky coastline and sandy beaches, the big skies over the Firth of Forth, and the picturesque costal villages
of Fife - Elie,
St. Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther, and Crail. Jan works in oil, watercolour and acrylic,
pencil, charcoal and ink. Selected paintings are reproduced as limited
edition giclee prints.
